Happy Holidays!
I am passionate about education and I believe preparation is the key to optimizing and maximizing a students college selection choices. I help expose and match students to opportunities that will define their college choices and potential careers. I believe that enhancing students' experiences differentiate their applications.
Working with students has always been my passion. I tutored for many years prior to college consulting. In addition, I have taught college planning classes at the Monmouth Country Park System and the Parsippany Library System. I am also a firm believer in giving back to community. Each year I take on pro bono work for qualifying students in the Morris County area. I had also had a fulfilling career as a senior executive in industry. Having interviewed hundreds of candidates during my professional career, I know what hiring managers are looking for in candidates and I use this knowledge to help students find and prepare for interviews and internships.
College admissions process is always changing, especially in these times. To stay current I am a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and a member of the New Jersey Association for College Admissions Counseling (NJACAC), National Career Development Association (NCDA) and Gap Year Association. Each of these associations sets membership requirements consisting of years of specialized experience, education and training, and a commitment to continuing education including college visits. I participate in IECA meetings virtually with admission counselors from a variety of colleges both in the US and abroad. I attend National College Fairs hosted by the NJACAC. I attend webinars on current topics such as changes in the college admissions process due to COVID-19, LGBTQ college events, and racial equality in colleges. I attend regional meetings with IECs where I learn and share best practices and have intimate meetings with regional admissions officers from colleges across the country. I personally visit 10-15 schools a year. Please see some of the insights from my visits here. I attend the NJCACAs part of the NCDA I keep current on career trends and I attend webinars on career development. I attend webinars on Gap Year trends and best practices. I believe in giving back and I support several pro bono students every year. Each of these associations sets membership requirements consisting of years of specialized experience, education and training, and a commitment to continuing education including college visits.

I have years of experience in the college admissions landscape and I’ve helped students with all aspects of the college process from start to finish. I know how to best position a student’s application while also maintaining each student’s genuine voice and interests. Students I’ve worked with have secured admission to numerous top 20 schools and Ivy League institutions.
I’ve taught college readiness classes and also have years of experience as a writing coach and humanities tutor, specializing in AP English, AP U.S. History, and SAT/ACT reading and writing. I really value helping students develop their ideas and providing them the opportunity to learn more about themselves as they navigate the college process.
I am always brushing up on my literary devices, researching admissions trends, and thinking of new ways to bring creativity to my work with students.
This summer, I will be focusing on helping students with personal statements and other college essays. I particularly love working with students on their college essays because I see this part of the application process as a unique opportunity for students to highlight their qualities and values in a manner that is meaningful to them. My goal is to help students improve their writing and analytical skills in ways that extend well beyond the college application process.
I believe that matching a student's personality to the vibe of a college is very important. This connection is why I truly enjoy developing the list of best-fit colleges for my students. In addition, for more than a decade, I interviewed students on behalf of my Ivy League alma mater, and I share this vast knowledge with my students. I have a deep understanding of questions asked by highly selective schools, as well as the characteristics they are assessing.

Applying to college can be a time of tremendous growth as well as a source of stress for students and parents. By guiding and supporting students, I help them to reflect on their values, accomplishments, and future goals, so that they may articulate in their own voice the personal growth they have experienced during their high school years, which is an integral part of the essay writing task. By helping students explore academic majors and connecting those interests to potential careers, students are better prepared to articulate their vision. I believe working closely with the student and keeping parents thoroughly informed, makes for a more enjoyable and less stressful experience for the entire family.
